When registered, players will be placed into a division based on experience, UTR and
competitions/grades they have competed in previously. We will aim to ensure divisions are
comprised as even and fair as possible to ensure the experience for everyone involved is
positive. We are aiming for roughly 5 to 6 players in a division, every player would play each other once, so potentially 4 to 5 matches in the 4 week period.
Players will have the opportunity to move up or down divisions for the following 4 week
season based on performance and results. We will carefully analyse results towards the
conclusion of the season and make the required adjustments to keep divisions fair and
reasonable for all participants prior to the next 4 week season commencing.
The match format for the Flexi Pennant is a 1 Set Match to 8, if the score gets to 7-7 a
tiebreak game is played to determine the winner of the set & match. The Flexi-Pennant will be using the Tennis Australia Procedures for Matches Played without a Chair Umpire as the
rule set.
Once all players are registered and divisions are created, players will be sent the information of their opponents in their division, including contact information.
1.
The player named first as the ‘Home’ player will be required to contact the opposing player to organise a time and date throughout the 4 week season to play their match.
2.
Once a date and time is organised, the ‘Home’ player is contact the BTA to inform the BTA of the date and time so the BTA can book a court and organise tennis balls.
3.
The BTA will then send a confirmation of the match to both players, including a PIN to the Book-A-Court gate to access the BRTC courts, and information on ball collection
Once a match is complete, the winner is required to contact the BTA to inform the BTA of the result of the match. The BTA will then publish the result of the match online, which players will be able to view on Match Centre & UTR.
